Summer 2015
Throughout the course of my first coop semester at Setco, I had a wide range of duties that increased in responsibility including: releasing completed orders to the shop, assisting in the completion of detail drawings for new orders, creating engineering change notices and revising existing drawings when necessary, and reverse engineering parts needed for the repair department.
This coop experience laid the groundwork for my future rotations with Setco as I began to learn the technical details concerning Setco's primary products, spindles and slides, of which I had limited knowledge of beforehand. In reflecting on this rotation, I am confident that obtaining this initial in-field work experience will boost my general confidence in my engineering abilities allowing me to be more assertive in both future coop and academic semesters.
