Saint Margaret Hall Fall Festival
Saint Margaret Hall is an assisted living facility in Cincinnati that has served the community for roughly fifty years (more on their facility can be found at http://www.stmargarethall.com/). The Fall Festival has been put on for over twenty years and is the primary fundraiser for Saint Margaret Hall.
On September 26 and 27, 2015, I volunteered for the setup and execution of the Fall Festival. During the setup day, I prepared and hung signs for various activity booths, set up tables for the market sale, and moved furniture and shelves as instructed. On the actual day of the festival, my primary duty was directing cars to a variety of parking locations. It proved to be an interesting task as it required a balanced judgement to decide who would be most appropriate to allow to park close to the hall as well as to then communicate and explain this information to the drivers. Although this was not the most exciting volunteering task, it served a necessary function and allowed me to observe how strong of a community pull that this festival has.
